The Legend

The Naga, guardian of the Mekong, is a divine serpent who commands both water and fire. On sacred nights, it rises beneath the river and releases mystical fireballs into the dark.

It watches over the temples, caves and mountains of Luang Prabang — flowing through the sacred waters of Kuang Si Waterfall, resting in the shadows of Pak Ou Caves, watching over the city from Mount Phousi, and guarding its temples’ eternal flame.

The Experience

Every Friday at 7:00 PM, watch traditional Lao dance unfold to the sound of the khaen, as the Naga’s story is told in movement and music.
