An insightful and deeply enveloping dining experience, the Lao Cooking class by Sofitel Luang Prabang is a four-course exploration into one of the most important aspects of Laotian culture. Led by our talented chefs, who have cultivated their deep understanding of Lao cuisine, as well as the rich culture that gave birth to it, you will be offered a masterfully designed crash course to cover the essentials of traditional Lao cooking.
The Laos cooking class will be initiated by facing the ever-increasing warmth of sunrise with a group visit to the Luang Prabang market. Immerse yourself with the bustling morning crowds, sights and scents of locally sourced food, presented by the colourful vendors of Lao people.
After the ingredients are selected, you will transition into a hands-on and expertly-led flow state of cooking, with all questions answered and displays of personal curiosity addressed by our chef. The experience will culminate with a scrumptious breakfast, defined by your personal touch and served in the serene setting of the Governor’s Grill restaurant.
Your Laos Cooking Class experience will stay with you with an official cooking class completion certificate accompanied by a recipe book that contains easy instructions for all your favourite dishes. You’ll find that the cultural context and hands-on experience from our Lao Cooking Class at Sofitel Luang Prabang will enable the smooth execution and remembrance of your time in Laos in the comfort of your own home.
